Conflict Minerals Policy

High Tech Solutions takes very seriously the worldwide concerns that metals mined in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (“DRC”) may be making their way into the material supply chain. Profits from this mining may be financing human rights violations in the eastern region of the DRC.

Although our products have never contained, nor are expected to contain any of the minerals in question, it is vital that we diligently monitor new product to prevent the use of DRC Conflict Minerals.

We are committed to a policy:

(a) That our supply chain does not knowingly contribute to human rights violations in the DRC and

(b) That the gold, tantalum, tungsten, or tin we may procure from our suppliers is NOT derived of ore sourced from mines in the conflict areas of the DRC or illegally taxed on trade routes which are controlled by non-government military groups or unlawful military factions.

In support of this effort, High Tech Solutions:

  • Will identify products that contain “Conflict Minerals” (gold, tantalum, tungsten, or tin) in the product planning stages and require our suppliers provide proof at delivery of “DRC” region free materials for any affected product.
  • Will support our customer’s efforts to comply with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) final rule regarding the sourcing of conflict minerals under Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
  • Requires that our suppliers, to the extent reasonably practicable, document the routes taken and the intermediaries involved from origin to final product.
